"EVERY THOUGHT YOU HAVE CAN BE ENERGETICALLY CALIBRATED, ALONG WITH ITS IMPACT ON YOUR BODY AND YOUR ENVIRONMENT." - Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in The Power of Intention

In the recent years, mindfulness has become a hot topic, typically with regards to self-improvement and creating a less stressful environment for yourself as an individual. But the buck doesn't stop there. The thoughts you think are affecting more than just your state of ease (or dis-ease if your thoughts are primarily of a negative quality). Your thoughts affect the collective consciousness as a whole, or to narrow it down - your environment and, hence, the world.

That 's quite the load to carry. Suddenly monitoring your thoughts in order to promote productivity, peace and abundance simply to quench your own thirst turns into a superhuman duty to the Universe. Kind of a heavy curriculum, isn't it?

"THIS IS YOUR WORK. YOU WERE GIVEN A HEAVY CURRICULUM, THAT'S IT. THERE'S NO BLAME, IT'S NOT EVEN WRONG, IT'S JUST WHAT YOU WERE GIVEN." - Ram Dass, Summer 1989

If you're still wondering about how your thoughts affect the whole, it helps to understand levels of energy with regards to frequencies. At the lowest level you have the material world where energy is slowed down to create mass. Next up the frequency chain is sound, then after that, light. Higher up is thought, which moves much faster than light or sound. And just so we don't leave it out, Spirit energy pulls rank moving at supersonic speed.

In studies performed over many years by David Hawkins, M.D. he discovers that every thought you have can be calculated to determine if it's of a low or high energy vibration, thus either weakening or strengthening your ability to connect to the highest/fastest energy of all - the Source.

Why do you want to connect to Source and what does this mean for you as well as humankind?

Simply put, connecting to the Source with your own high vibration allows abundance to flow gracefully to you, as well as provide peace, compassion and wonderment in your life. On the scale of civilization, it can counter the low energy of those around you, and on a larger scale in the communities and cultures you are a part of. One person has a tremendous impact and the higher up your vibration, the greater and more vast the impact.

In his studies, Dr. Hawkins' research pulls forth figures to contemplate. I will give you one, at the lowest rung of the 'ladder to intention.'

* ONE INDIVIDUAL WHO LIVES AND VIBRATES TO THE ENERGY OF OPTIMISM AND A WILLINGNESS TO BE NONJUDGEMENTAL OF OTHERS WILL COUNTERBALANCE THE NEGATIVITY OF 90,OOO INDIVIDUALS WHO CALIBRATE AT THE LOWER WEAKENING LEVELS.

Holy Moly! So, how can you be a part of the solution to heal? Raise your vibration!!! Here's some tips on how to do that drawn from the above mentioned book of Dr. Dyer's:

Be aware of your thoughts and their nature. Choose thoughts that align with beauty, compassion, gratitude, love and so on. Avoid thoughts like judgment, regret, anger, jealousy, etc.

Meditate (not medicate!) regularly. There are many methods you can try to find what works for you.

Choose your foods consciously. Food has energy levels as well. Fresh foods vibrate higher, artificial foods much lower.

Retreat from low-energy substances. Alcohol & substances get the boot here.

Be aware what music and television stimulus you subject your energy to. Opt for the uplifting and positive.

Extend acts of kindness, asking for nothing in return. Tell the ego to take a seat while you give without expecting to receive so much as a thank you.

There are many ways to raise (or lower!) your vibration and many articles on the subject. Find what works for you and implement it as soon as possible, beginning to tune in to how things make you feel and gravitating towards what's best for you. Together, we can convert the lower energies and help heal the whole.
