ANUSARA - "FLOWING WITH GRACE" A heartfelt practice with a focus closely related to Iyengar. Attention to alignment and correct positioning. Similar to the flow of Vinyasa. Lighthearted and Positive.

 

ASHTANGA - Similar to Vinyasa as it synchronizes the breath with movement, however, very unique as it adheres to a progression from 1-6 series of postures. Its focus is to build heat and detoxify.

 

BEGINNERS - These classes serve as an introduction to Yoga and typically slow down the momentum to allow for ample instruction and modifications.

 

BIKRAM - A series of 26 basic Yoga postures, performed twice each, in a room typically heated to 105 degrees and high humidity.

 

FLOW YOGA - These practices use the breath to transition you from posture to posture with ease and grace.

 

GENTLE - Appropriate for all levels. A relaxing and soft approach to practicing Yoga with the intention of relaxation and nourishing the body.

 

HATHA - Hatha is traditionally the name for the practice of the asanas. It is the physical aspect in Yoga. As a studio/location class description, it means you will explore classic postures and breathing exercises.

 

INTERMEDIATE - This level of Yoga is for someone who has built a strong practice and is ready to explore deeper variations and more advanced applications.

 

IYENGAR - A Hatha Yoga practice focused on proper alignment, utilizing props to assist in performing the postures correctly for the most benefit.

 

KIDS - Creative and fun. Simple postures described to the kids in imaginitive ways.

 

KUNDALINI - A flowing practice that aims to ingnite and release a coil of energy up the spinal cord from the base, much like a serpent. A highly spiritual approach to a Yoga practice.

 

MEDITATION - Calming and silencing the mind to find peace and relaxation. There are many types of meditation ranging from guided meditations, mindul meditations, breath focused and much, much more.

 

MIXED LEVEL - Designed to serve beginners as well as more advanced practicioners by providing instruction to allow your to modify or amplify your practice.

 

POWER/POWERFLOW - A vigorous vinyasa flow that will take you through sun salutations, standing balances, arm balances, backbends and inversions. Be prepared to work up a sweat.

 

PRENATAL - Tailored to nourish expecting women in all stages of pregnancy, including post-birth to regain strength and balance. Helps to reduce some of the disomforts of pregnancy while promoting relaxation and peace.

 

RESTORATIVE - Be prepared to prop up with bolsters, eye pillows and more as you sink into deep relaxation. Few, select postures will be practiced in class, each being held for as much as 10-20 minutes. Walk away refreshed and deeply calm.

 

SLOW FLOW - A sequence a postures sewn together with smooth, slow transitions and an often gentler approach, although not necessarily therapeutic as holding postures for longer can be sweat inducing! A Vinyasa style approach.

 

THERAPEUTIC - A great choice if you are recovering from an injury or illness. Combines gentle Yoga, meditation, breathwork and sometimes hands-on healing. Relieve stress and anxiety while recovering your body's health.

 

VINIYOGA - An individualized practiced that incorporates exploring postures from the inside out, utilizing breath control and personalized alignment. Focus on warming the body before taking the postures deeper to reduce the risk of injury.

 

VINYASA - A practice that links breath and movement to create a organic and flowing experience. Although often using sun salutations to link postures, expect the sequence to vary with each class. Similar to a moving meditation as the mind is stilled by continual breath focus.

 

YIN - A practice of long held postures with the intention of targeting the connective tissues rather than the muscles. Body focus is typically on the lower half of the body. Increased energy flow is experienced, allowing for improved organ functioning and vitality.

 

YOGA NIDRA - A deep relaxation practice that is sometimes referred to as a Yogic sleep as the practioner rests in the deepest states of relaxation while remaining fully conscious. Different approaches and vizualizations may be introduced. Seen as a passageway to experiencing higher states of consciousness.
