February tends to be a heart-centered month. Expressions of love linger about as a reminder; a reminder that love exists, like it or not, and that expressing it feels good. Literally. Neurotransmitters are released that make us, indeed, feel joyous when love is our state of mind or is expressed by or towards us.

But what happens when the scale tips too far one way or the other? The joy and pleasure of love may become blocked, but not lost. If you find you are giving more than enough, or perhaps rolling in the abundance of love given to you, yet there is still an emptiness, some balancing may be in order to bring back those lovin' feelings.

The trick is to understand your love currents and attempt to ride the wave of all four in balance. Now, because life is constantly in motion and ever-changing, so are the waves you are riding at any given point, but we certainly have tendencies that can be recognized as a pattern.

In the world of energy and chakras, there are four main currents that carry energy/information. These currents intersect at each chakra wheel, animating and governing various aspects of our life (here we are dealing with the heart chakra). The currents include reception, expression, liberation and manifestation.

CHECK YOUR LOVE CURRENTS WITH THESE INQUIRIES:

Is your receipt of love, acceptance and compassion from others in balance with the amount you are giving out (are you a people pleaser or perhaps withdrawn)?

How do you feel in connection to the Divine, a universal energy or religious entity? Do you feel loved and supported? Do you feed back that energy through any sort of faith or devotion (practices, prayer, meditation, etc.)?

What is your love and self-acceptance relationship towards yourself?

Manifesting the joy of love peaks when love and compassion is flowing harmoniously on all currents.

Where might you need a bit more attention? Pay some mind to that which is most in need and be watchful for any shift in your heart space, in your perspective, and in your body (bring on the dopamine and oxytocin!). When all else fails, get on your Yoga mat. IT LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY!
